THE ETHICAL PRINCIPLES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH
The guidelines that psychologists must adhere to when conducting research with human subjects are outlined in the Ethical Principles of Psychological Research. The APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct outlines a comprehensive set of guidelines for psychologists conducting research. These guidelines include minimizing harm, maintaining confidentiality, and obtaining informed consent.
Psychologists must obtain informed consent from participants, informing them about the research's purpose, risks, and benefits. It is imperative that they safeguard the privacy of the participants' data and implement measures to mitigate any possible harm or discomfort that may arise from the research. In addition, researchers must follow ethical guidelines concerning deception, debriefing, and using animals in research. Psychologists can ensure that their research is carried out responsibly and ethically by adhering to these guidelines.

The retraction of the scientific article is the mechanism of correcting published data and alerting readers about articles with serious gaps or invalid content, incl. unreliable one. The publication of such data may be accidental or intentional misconduct.
